US and UK Advise Their Nationals in Qatar to Stay Indoors Amid Rising Tensions
Amid rising tensions in the Middle East following reported U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, both the United States and the United Kingdom issued safety advisories on Monday (June 23) urging their citizens in Qatar to remain indoors.

The U.S. Embassy in Doha released a statement saying, “Out of an abundance of caution, we recommend American citizens shelter in place until further notice.” Shortly after, the British Embassy issued a similar advisory, citing the U.S. security alert and encouraging British nationals to also shelter in place.

While neither country pointed to a specific threat, the synchronized warnings have fueled anxiety in a region already unsettled by the ongoing Iran-Israel tensions.

In response, Iran’s military on the same day renewed its threats of retaliation against the United States, warning of “serious, unpredictable consequences” following the strikes. This follows a series of statements from Iranian officials promising a strong response, raising fears that the situation could escalate into a wider regional conflict.
